Brazilian Buttock Lifting involves the reshaping of your backside using your own fat. Fat is removed from places you don’t want it, and placed in places that you do want it, such as your buttock and hips. Brazilian Buttock Lifting is a very specialized area of plastic surgery and you must be very selective in the surgeon you choose. Click Here to learn more.
You should find a board certified plastic surgeon that specializes in this procedure. This means that he/she must do at least 3-4 of these per week, and should be able to show you results from at least 1 year ago. This will help ensure that your surgeon is familiar with the proper way to harvest the fat, process the fat, re-inject the fat, and care for you during the recovery period. If you choose an inexperienced or under qualified surgeon, it is likely the results of your surgery will last only a few months as the transplanted fat dies. Experienced surgeons should be able to give you permanent results.
Be wary of surgeons who say they are “cosmetic surgeons” as this means that they have received training in other areas of medicine and not in plastic surgery. I personally know of several Gynecologists, Cardiologists, and Radiologists who advertise this procedure, having learned it at a “weekend course”. I have had to do revisional procedures on several of their patients and believe me when I say that whatever money you save by having them do the surgery, you will spend 5 times over trying to fix any problems.
This is the reason why many people travel to have this procedure done. Our office is very experienced in dealing with out-of-town patients and can arrange online consultations for those who are unable to travel for a consultation. Patients usually stay in NYC for about 5 days after surgery before they are cleared to return home.
