The term is just a colloquial one, thought up because the primary procedures performed in these surgeries are often done to help women restore their pre baby bodies after pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding. All of these experiences are wonderful and natural, but they can change your physical body significantly.
What’s Included in a Mommy Makeover?
Ultimately, no two mommy makeovers are the same. For some women, a mommy makeover includes a tummy tuck, liposuction, and a breast enhancement surgery. For other women, it may simply be liposuction and a BBL.
Mommy makeovers are catered to the individual. But in general, the majority of them include any combination of the following:
- Tummy tuck (abdominoplasty)

Several studies have shown that the safest length of surgery (with anesthesia use) is no more than 5-6 hours. Any longer than that, and the risk for complications increases significantly.
For this reason, we, of course, always ensure that patients are in good physical health before surgery. But we may also stagger your procedures depending on your goals.
As an example, if a patient desires both a BBL (Brazilian butt lift) and major breast enhancement surgery, we will need to schedule these procedures for different times. This is because a BBL requires that patients do not sit or sleep directly on their buttocks for several weeks, but major breast enhancement surgery means you can’t lie on your stomach either.
