Can You Get an Hourglass Male BBL?

Can You Get an Hourglass Male BBL

With the right BBL surgeon, you’re always going to undergo a surgery that’s catered specifically to you and your needs.

Brazilian butt lifts are not one-size-fits-all surgeries. The procedure we follow depends on your overall anatomy and frame, how much excess fat you have, what type of final shape you desire, and where you’d like to see more or less volume.

When it comes to male BBL surgery, Dr. Schulman will work with you to determine your desired outcome and go from there. So, if it’s an hourglass male BBL you’re after, we’ll work with you to facilitate that goal.

What Is an Hourglass Fat Transfer Male BBL?

The truth is most Brazilian butt lift procedures for men are actually hourglass fat transfer BBLs. “Hourglass” refers, as the name suggests, to an actual hourglass. This is an ancient timekeeping object that is wide on the top, wide on the bottom, and very skinny in the middle.

Most of the time, when we think of an hourglass figure, we think of a woman. Throughout history, it has been common for women to desire an hourglass figure — where they have a larger chest and breasts, a very slim and tiny waist around the belly button area, and a larger rounder buttocks.

There are indeed times throughout history where this desired shape has deviated from the hourglass shape. For example, during the 1990s, it was actually more desirable for women to have smaller butts.

However, the hourglass shape is a classically desired shape because it tends to look great on almost all women – no matter their overall percentage of body fat or their BMI (body mass index). This is a reason the female BBL is so popular.

What may surprise some people is that men commonly desire an hourglass shape as well. In fact, a lighter version of the shape is quite attractive on most men.

While men do not have the breasts that women do, they typically want to have a bigger chest most of the time. They also want a slim and flat waist that is smaller than the size of their chest.

And finally, most men do want straight hips, but they also desire an ample buttocks — not a tiny, flat butt with no projection.

MALE BBL BEFORE AND AFTER

Male BBL Overview

Whether you’re a man specifically seeking an hourglass BBL or you simply like the idea of removing some unwanted fat from your abdomen and transferring it to your hips and buttocks, here’s what you can expect from this surgery.

Male BBL Procedure Steps

1. Anesthesia

First, general anesthesia is administered to the patient so that they are completely asleep throughout surgery. Dr. Matthew Schulman works within his own accredited in-office operating room, and your anesthesiologist will naturally be on-site as well.

2. Incisions for Liposuction

Before we can start reshaping your body with harvested fat, the next step is to perform liposuction. This procedure will remove unwanted fat cells so that they can be processed outside the body and then re-injected into the buttock area.

Liposuction will be performed on the abdomen primarily, especially in the case of an hourglass BBL. But sometimes, a patient may also want liposuction performed on their back, upper arms, or even the chin, and we can typically facilitate this as well.

3. Fat Purification

It’s important to remember that there is a limit to the amount of unwanted fat we can remove from the body. Typically, this amount is around 5 liters of fat combined with liquid.

Once this amount or the desired amount of fat has been removed, it will go through a purification process to prepare it for re-injection to the male buttocks.

4. Re-injection

Once the fat has been purified, Dr. Schulman will re-inject it into the body in the desired locations. Again, most men want to have a relatively straight figure when compared with the desired female shape.

However, it is true that having a waist that is smaller than the width of the hips is typically desired by all. Many male patients also want to have more projection in their buttocks so that it is not flat and pancake-like.

5. Incision Closure

Lastly, all of the incisions made during the surgical procedure will be carefully closed. Liposuction incisions are very small to begin with and should heal very nicely so that they’re hardly noticeable.

Fat injection wounds are also very small — even smaller than liposuction incisions. Most of them simply look like small dots or freckles once they’ve healed.

FAQ: Male Brazilian Butt Lift Procedure

What is the Brazilian butt lift recovery process like?

When we remove fat with liposuction, this can damage the blood vessels and surrounding tissue, causing bruising, swelling, and some soreness. Fat re-injection usually doesn’t cause many symptoms.

Patients in the BBL recovery period should consume a healthy diet, get up and move around frequently, avoid smoking and alcohol, avoid intensive exercise, and maintain a healthy weight.

How much will my male BBL cost?

Male BBL cost depends on numerous factors. This is the case with all fat grafting and body contouring procedures (and really, all plastic surgery procedures). Please schedule a consultation so Dr. Schulman can talk to you about your desired outcome and assess you for Brazilian butt lift candidacy before discussing price.
